At this point because Hope for Homeowners has become a hard to seek out program, short refinances are taking over. The Short Refinances are becoming more mainstream than they were even just a month ago. We see progress with the program everyday we deal with the banks. CitiMortgage in fact just recently announced they were stopping all foreclosures. We saw them open up overnight with their participation in the short refinances. Just be prepared for long hold times and getting disconnected.

Really great information on this! I think your really educating the masses and we see that for our clients many times they have dealt with bad loan officers prior to working with our team and if more agents just read this post we would all be in a better place.

Keep up the great posts. We need more great education for the markets!

Great Post Mark. We are actually seeing this nationwide with our clients. Many people are actually able to save thousands. Sometimes hundreds of thousands just by refinancing in to these types of products. Short Refinance is an extremely important option that very few people have a strong grasp on this and I think It’s great your out there educating the average homeowner looking for a principal reduction or a write down.
